Term 3 reflection for Waka Stride


What's on top!
  • We have enjoyed learning about space - Kelsey
  • Loved the AKO Reading with the little kids - Jed
  • It helped me to learn about the Positive Mindset - William
  • Chamberlains Ford is great because we are getting to know the area better - Brigid
  • Moment in time writing has be great because they were cool pictures - Sjaak
  • I still remember the putiputi weaving from last term - MAx W
  • It was a huge challenge to teach other kids at Chamberlains Ford - Toby & Jed
  • It was great that we learned how to say our birthday in Te Reo - Charlotte
  • AKO choices were great because there were really good learning activities - Tegan
  • We earned our Bronze Enviro School Award and planted the Wind Garden - Daniel
  • We had lots of sports things like tennis and cricket & hockey in sports - Taylor
  • Buddy writing is great because we get to work with the big kids - Nate
  • My planner is great because the target lasts all week and we grow our A+ - Ella
  • Our blog is great learning and that we get to use lots of apps in our learning - Sjaak
  • We have loved the challenge of fractions in our maths - Max W
  • Getting better at litter free lunches - Jed
  • I loved singing our Te Reo Māori songs in the morning - Holly
  • It is good to start the day with a karakia and the positive mindset chant - Blake
  • Our PE sessions each week are great - Jed.
  • Free Rice helped me learn heaps of cool new words - Sjaak
  • ECO Team challenges - wind garden, lizards & chicken team - yippee!
  • We can all work in different places in the class.
  • We are great at using 'Easy Blogger' for our deep reflections - Allana
  • Most planners are ready on the mat before school - Max D
  • When the TV works - it is great for us all to see - Allana

What's not working so well:
  • Some of us are not being so self managing - Blake
  • We want to do more fitness every day - Sjaak
  • Allana needs to give out more Stride Stones and Gottchas - Daniel
  • We need to use our manners better on the mat - William
  • We must remember our 2 cm voices in class - Charlotte
  • I want to do more handwriting - Ella
  • Oops - I am loosing my manners - Max W
  • We are forgetting to use the 'Waka Behaviour Chart' - Zoë
  • Not all of us are doing our home learning challenges - Allana
  • We are not sitting in the 'safety zone' on the mat - Zoë
  • I want to have more chances at doing harder running records - Sjaak
  • Our stationery gets lost lots - Daniel
  • I don't like swapping over for maths and reading - Tegan
  • Some of us like swapping over for maths and reading - Max W
  • We are not so good at checking off our 'Must Do' list - Lexie
  • Our reading stamina is not as strong as it used to be - Kelsey
  • We would like to go on other visits - not just Chamberlains Ford - the Gold Coast! - Brigid
  • We sometimes struggle with making the TV work - Taylor
  • One Day School kids miss out on stuff on Friday - Sjaak & Allana

What we want to change in Term 4:
  • More handwriting?
  • New inquiry with more of a project - Sjaak
  • Planners - space to decorate, term planner, lots of pictures, more whakatoki, 
  • More Te Reo and songs
  • More fitness
  • AKO reading continue with the little kids
  • Learn Stratch programming
  • More greetings in different languages
  • Do more kids workshops run by the kids
  • Stride Team keep doing more stuff together
  • Plan some workshops for Step Team
