Welcome to Sprint: Moller - Halberg

Morena,
Kia ora...
welcome to our amazing learning team in the wonderful Kepler Space with the A Team - Allana and Whaea Alice.

Over the next few days we will all get to know each other and get ready for school camp, where there will be lots of challenges.

Meet the Team:
The first challenge for the year is to find out about the people our teams are named after. Their names below are linked. Visit the sites and write your question in the comments section. Can you answer any of the questions about our teams?

I could find an image that was free to use.

Check out our very own Max playing drums at the certificate assembly last week.

Check out what amazing things Max has been doing. I'd like to hear how the boat floated!

crystals and rocks

after editing

Crystals and rocks are different because on a crystal it has pointy side and on a rock it is just curved, so whatever is pointy it is a crystal and if it is round and smooth it is a rock.
Crystals are found deeper in the ground than rocks because they are really pretty and harder to find.

Rocks are more likely to be found in stones than crystals. Rocks are on top and crystals are down , if you want to find a crystal you would have to get a shovel to dig it out, to find a rock you would have to go to a stoney place.

Sizuku's Grandfather - By Ella

Sizuku's Grandfather - By Ella

This is the story that Ella wrote and got a Principal's Award for. :)

Chapter one:
Sizuku's grandfather comes to meet him after school each day. His grandfather is old and bent and a bit deaf. He used a walking stick.

One day Sizuku's friends laughed at his grandfather. "Look at your grandfather Sizuku!" they said, "He's so old. He can't even walk properly anymore."
It made Sizuku mad when his friends laughed at his grandfather. His grandfather was good to him and Sizuku loved him very much.

There was a secret about Sizuku's grandfather that his friends did not know.

"Grandfather," Sizuku shouted. "My friends are being mean to me."

"Oh. How Sizuku," whispered Sizuku's grandfather.
"They were laughing at you,"cried Sizuku.

Christmas Market 2015

Check out Carol's live broadcast of our Christmas Market on Friday. Did she talk to you?

Introducing Makey Makey

Introducing Makey Makey!

Lets make music.....

Click here to get your piano...

or click to get your drum machine...

Follow these steps to make the circuits and set up for all the fun.
Remember  - green = grass = earth.

Setup

1) Plug in USB
Small side of USB cable plugs into MaKey MaKey, big side plugs into computer.

2) Close Popup Window
Your computer may ask you to install drivers or do other setup. You can click cancel or close the window.

3) Connect to Earth
Connect one end of an alligator clip to "Earth" on the bottom of the front side of MaKey MaKey.

4) Connect to Yourself
Hold the metal part of the other end of the alligator clip between your fingers. You are now "grounded."

5) Check out the drum-kit or the keyboard.

6) Connect Stuff
Now you can try making your own drums out of anything. How about a banana cowbell,

a watermelon bass drum, or a crash cymbal sound when you high-five your friend?

Be inspired by these ideas.
We might need some lots of trial and experimentation to get to this level.
