This one's a bit more difficult. I am on an island which is part of an archipelago in the North Sea off the North East Coast of Scotland. This place is known for the cute little bird, the puffin.
To be in the Step Team, Tongariro Waka we must show kindness, show respect and do our best. That way we all all paddle in the same direction.

Where is Zoë
Not far from (probably) the Queen's most well known palace. And home to the park that inspired our own Hagley Park. We am I?
Where is Zoë
I can see Lady Liberty but I'm not in New York. The Eiffel Tower is just down the road....or should I say the strip. Where am I?

Transforming Tessellations
This week we have been investigating geometric concepts including symmetry, reflection (flip), rotation (turn) and translations (slide). Our next step is to use this know to create Tessellations. Here's some inspiration from Dutch Artist M.C. Escher.
We'll also being using this maths website to define and create our own tessellations: Maths is fun
Rotations and Turns
This week, Halberg have been learning about rotation, turns and angles. Here is some of the turns we have been practising. Try using google maps and street view to give directions from your house to Springston school. Terms we have been using:
- Quarter turns (90 degrees)
- Half turns (180 degrees)
- Full turn (360 degrees)
- Clockwise
- Anticlockwise
- Left and Right!
