FIE - Growing Dendrites

In Kepler we made models of neurons to help us learn how the brain works.
The neuron is a nerve cell.

The soma is the orange bit in the middle where all the information is gathered.

The dendrites anre the feely bits that look out for another neuron th connect with. They collect information from other neurons.

The long stem is the axon.

The blue tubes are the myelin that protect the neural pathway. Myelin gets laid down when we practise things over again. This way the pathway grows wider and the task gets easier. It makes information or skills easier to remember.

We joined our neurons togehter to make a 'Mega-Neuron'. Check it out on the classroom wall.
